By purchasing, downloading, or using AlliHat, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use AlliHat.
What AlliHat is
AlliHat is a Safari extension that lets you interact with AI while browsing. You choose which AI powers it: Claude (Anthropic), ChatGPT (OpenAI), Gemini (Google), OpenRouter Auto, or Apple's on-device model. ChatGPT sign-in uses your ChatGPT account and requires no API key. For Claude, Gemini, and optional OpenAI API access, you supply your own API key. For OpenRouter, you can connect your account through OpenRouter's PKCE authorization flow or paste an existing key. Apple's on-device model requires no key. OpenRouter selects and routes requests to another model provider under your OpenRouter account. AlliHat is not made by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, OpenRouter, or Apple.
License
When you purchase AlliHat, you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the software on your own devices. You may not redistribute, resell, reverse-engineer, or modify AlliHat.
Subscriptions and payment
AlliHat costs $29.99/year, billed through the Mac App Store. A 7-day free trial is available. You can cancel anytime through your Apple ID subscription settings. Refunds are handled by Apple according to their policies.
Your API key and costs
ChatGPT sign-in is subject to your ChatGPT plan limits and OpenAI's terms. It does not require API billing. For API-key providers, AlliHat requires a provider API key. OpenRouter can create that user-controlled key when you authorize AlliHat. You are responsible for any API usage charges from the provider you choose, including charges for models and tools selected through OpenRouter. We have no control over any provider's model selection, pricing, rate limits, availability, or terms of service, and we are not responsible for any charges you incur from them. Apple's on-device model runs on your Mac at no usage cost.
What we're responsible for
We'll do our best to keep AlliHat working well and to fix bugs. However, AlliHat is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We don't guarantee that:
- AlliHat will work with every website or Safari version
- The AI's responses will be accurate, complete, or appropriate
- The service will be uninterrupted or error-free
- AlliHat will be compatible with future macOS or Safari updates
What we're not responsible for
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of AlliHat. This includes but is not limited to:
- Costs incurred from any AI provider's API
- Actions taken in Agent Mode
- Decisions made based on the AI's responses
- Data sent to any AI provider's API
Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for AlliHat in the 12 months before the claim.
Agent Mode
AlliHat's Agent Mode allows your chosen cloud AI model, including a model selected through OpenRouter, to interact with web pages on your behalf (clicking, typing, scrolling, navigating). You are responsible for supervising Agent Mode and for any actions it takes. Use it at your own risk.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use AlliHat to:
- Violate any laws or regulations
- Violate the usage policies of whichever AI provider you use, such as Anthropic's acceptable use policy, OpenAI's usage policies, Google's generative AI prohibited use policy, or OpenRouter's terms
- Scrape websites in violation of their terms of service
- Automate actions on websites where automation is prohibited
Termination
You can stop using AlliHat at any time by uninstalling the extension and canceling your subscription through your Apple ID settings. We reserve the right to revoke your license if you violate these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of AlliHat after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
