Sign in with ChatGPT.
Use the ChatGPT account you already have. Sign in once, then ask about the page in front of you. No API key needed.
First, download AlliHat from the Mac App Store and turn it on in Safari. Already have it? You can start below.
Sign in with your ChatGPT account.
- Open the three-dot menu in AlliHat and choose Model, then ChatGPT.
- Click Sign in with ChatGPT. Complete the sign-in in the browser window that opens.
- Return to AlliHat once it shows you are connected. Open a page and ask what you want to know.
"Can you explain this page to me?"
Which account pays for this?
AlliHat lets you use your current ChatGPT plan. Your plan's usage limits apply, and you do not need separate OpenAI API billing. AlliHat has its own 7-day free trial, then costs $29.99/year.
Sign-in did not finish?
Go back to AlliHat and open ChatGPT account in the three-dot menu. Cancel an unfinished sign-in and try again. Make sure you use the ChatGPT account you intended.
If you have reached a usage limit, follow the reset time or account message shown. Reconnecting does not reset your plan's allowance.
A few common questions.
Do I need an API key?
No. Choose ChatGPT and sign in with your ChatGPT account. The separate OpenAI API option is for API keys and API billing.
Will my ChatGPT chats and memories appear in AlliHat?
No. Signing in does not give AlliHat your existing ChatGPT conversations or memories.
Do I have to choose a model?
No. Leave the model and effort settings on Automatic to get started. You can change them later under ChatGPT account in the three-dot menu.
