Try asking

You've spotted a website idea you want to try.

"Add a to-do to our Website project in Basecamp to try this navigation idea. Put it in the Ideas list and include this link."

How to connect Basecamp in Safari.

  1. Install AlliHat. Download it from the Mac App Store, then turn it on in Safari Settings > Extensions. Allow access to the pages you want to use.
  2. Choose your AI. Sign in with ChatGPT or connect another supported AI provider. Already chatting in AlliHat? You can skip this step.
  3. Connect Basecamp. Open the three-dot menu, choose Connected apps, find Basecamp, and click Connect. Sign in to Basecamp and choose your account. Choose full access to create to-dos, or read-only access if you just want to look things up.
  4. Ask for what you need. Once it says Connected, go back to the page and send your request. Use the example above, or ask in your own words.

Give the idea a little context.

Tell AlliHat why the page caught your eye. A sentence about what you want to try is more useful to your team than a link on its own.

"Mention that I like how the mobile menu stays out of the way."

Having trouble?

For a new project, make sure To-dos is turned on in Basecamp. You can add it under Add a tool. If AlliHat can read your project but cannot add a to-do, check that you granted full access when connecting.

If you need to sign in again, open Connected apps, select Basecamp, and choose Refresh connection. If a request gets interrupted, check Basecamp before sending it again.

For account requirements, see Basecamp's connection help.

Accounts and costs.

You need AlliHat, an AI connection, and your own Basecamp account. AlliHat has a 7-day free trial, then costs $29.99/year. Your AI and Basecamp plans are separate.

The page text you ask about goes to your AI provider. When you ask it to save something in Basecamp, the details go there too. Read about privacy.
