How to connect Linear in Safari.

  1. Install AlliHat. Download it from the Mac App Store, then turn it on in Safari Settings > Extensions. Allow access to the pages you want to use.
  2. Choose your AI. Sign in with ChatGPT or connect another supported AI provider. Already chatting in AlliHat? You can skip this step.
  3. Connect Linear. Open the three-dot menu, choose Connected apps, find Linear, and click Connect. Sign in to Linear and choose the workspace where you want to create issues.
  4. Ask for what you need. Once it says Connected, go back to the page and send your request. Use the example above, or ask in your own words.

You don't have to write the issue twice.

Ask AlliHat to pull the problem out of a long thread and put it in Linear. Tell it which team to use. If you want to work on the wording first, just ask.

Having trouble?

If your team is missing, check that you connected the right workspace. Screenshots and browser logs aren't attached automatically; add them to the issue if your team needs them.

If you need to sign in again, open Connected apps, select Linear, and choose Refresh connection. If a request gets interrupted, check Linear before sending it again.

Can this Linear Safari extension create an issue from a support thread?

Yes. Ask AlliHat to summarize the thread, name the team, and include a link. You can also ask for a draft in chat before creating the issue.

Do I need Agent Mode?

No. Connect Linear, then ask in your usual AlliHat chat. Agent Mode is only needed when you want AlliHat to click or type in the browser.

Does this work on iPhone or iPad?

No. AlliHat is for Safari on a Mac running macOS 14 or later.

Is AlliHat an official Linear extension?

No. AlliHat is an independent app that connects to your Linear account.
