Notion Web Clipper saves the webpage itself. Use AlliHat when you want to ask for a summary, pull out a few details, or explain something before adding it to your notes.

How to connect Notion in Safari.

  1. Install AlliHat. Download it from the Mac App Store, then turn it on in Safari Settings > Extensions. Allow access to the pages you want to use.
  2. Choose your AI. Sign in with ChatGPT or connect another supported AI provider. Already chatting in AlliHat? You can skip this step.
  3. Connect Notion. Open the three-dot menu, choose Connected apps, find Notion, and click Connect. Sign in to Notion and choose your workspace. Your workspace may ask an admin to approve the connection.
  4. Ask for what you need. Once it says Connected, go back to the page and send your request. Use the example above, or ask in your own words.

Tell it what you want to remember.

You don't have to save a summary of everything. Ask for the part you care about, whether that's a recipe, an explanation, or an idea for something you're building.

Having trouble?

Can't find a page? Check that you connected the right Notion workspace and that your account can open the page.

If you need to sign in again, open Connected apps, select Notion, and choose Refresh connection. If a request gets interrupted, check Notion before sending it again.

Accounts and costs.

You need AlliHat, an AI connection, and your own Notion account. AlliHat has a 7-day free trial, then costs $29.99/year. Your AI and Notion plans are separate.

The page text you ask about goes to your AI provider. When you ask it to save something in Notion, the details go there too. Read about privacy.

How is this Notion Safari extension different from Web Clipper?

Notion Web Clipper saves webpages. AlliHat lets you ask AI to summarize or explain what you are reading and save the result to Notion. Use Web Clipper when you want to keep the original page.

Do I need Agent Mode?

No. Connect Notion, then ask in your usual AlliHat chat. Agent Mode is only needed when you want AlliHat to click or type in the browser.

Does this work on iPhone or iPad?

No. AlliHat is for Safari on a Mac running macOS 14 or later.

Is AlliHat an official Notion extension?

No. AlliHat is an independent app that connects to your Notion account.
