Todoist's own Safari extension can add a task with the current page attached. AlliHat can also read the page and help you work out what needs doing.

How to connect Todoist in Safari.

  1. Install AlliHat. Download it from the Mac App Store, then turn it on in Safari Settings > Extensions. Allow access to the pages you want to use.
  2. Choose your AI. Sign in with ChatGPT or connect another supported AI provider. Already chatting in AlliHat? You can skip this step.
  3. Connect Todoist. Open the three-dot menu, choose Connected apps, find Todoist, and click Connect. Sign in to the Todoist account where you keep your tasks and approve the connection.
  4. Ask for what you need. Once it says Connected, go back to the page and send your request. Use the example above, or ask in your own words.

Say when you want to do it.

Give it a date or name a project if you have one in mind. You can change your mind in the same conversation.

Having trouble?

Seeing the wrong projects? Make sure you connected the Todoist account you normally use.

If you need to sign in again, open Connected apps, select Todoist, and choose Refresh connection. If a request gets interrupted, check Todoist before sending it again.

Accounts and costs.

You need AlliHat, an AI connection, and your own Todoist account. AlliHat has a 7-day free trial, then costs $29.99/year. Your AI and Todoist plans are separate.

Common questions.

How is this different from the official Todoist Safari extension?

The official extension can add a task with a page link. AlliHat can also read the page, summarize what needs doing, and add those details to your task.

Do I need Agent Mode?

No. Connect Todoist, then ask in your usual AlliHat chat. Agent Mode is only needed when you want AlliHat to click or type in the browser.

Does this work on iPhone or iPad?

No. AlliHat is for Safari on a Mac running macOS 14 or later.

Is AlliHat an official Todoist extension?

No. AlliHat is an independent app that connects to your Todoist account.
